New Zoom Phone Reseller Program Unveiled

Zoom will welcome more resellers into the program by the end of the year.

During Tuesday’s Zoomtopia Partner Connect, Zoom unveiled a new reseller partner program for Zoom Phone Bring Your Own Carrier (BYOC).

The program offers a new income opportunity for resellers and more flexibility for customers. Resellers can sell Zoom Phone BYOC licenses.

They will also be able to connect clients who use cloud peering to access PSTN to Zoom Phone Provider Exchange. It’s a new way to find suppliers and take a self-service journey to securely deliver phone numbers.

Zoom is running a pilot program for certain resellers who qualify to sell Zoom Phone BYOC. It plans to welcome a larger pool of resellers by the end of the year.

Zoom Phone BYOC offers choice

Built on the Zoom platform, Zoom Phone is a cloud phone system for businesses of all sizes. With Zoom Phone BYOC, customers can keep their current PSTN service providers by redirecting existing voice circuits to the Zoom Phone cloud, or implement a hybrid solution with Zoom Calling Plans.

Previously, only Zoom Master Agents could recommend offers for Zoom Phone and Zoom Phone BYOC. Now, qualifying and eligible Zoom Phone Reseller Partners around the world will be allowed to resell Zoom Phone BYOC.

Zoom Phone BYOC customers who use cloud peering to connect to the PSTN will also soon be able to access Zoom Phone Provider Exchange. It provides a streamlined experience for Zoom Phone BYOC customers to select their preferred provider, download their app, and provide phone numbers right in the Zoom portal. As a result, Zoom Phone BYOC customers will have more choice and flexibility in terms of vendors and their geographic reach, the company said.

Channel Futures: What drove the need and timing for the expansion of the reseller program? Can you give some examples of how the extension will benefit Zoom’s reseller partners?

Laura Padilla: Our partner program continues to grow and evolve, and we have a very strong interest in Zoom Phone. In fact, we have reached 2 million Zoom Phone seats in just 10 quarters. And in our last quarter, Q2 FY22, our partners generated over a quarter of Zoom Phone sales globally. We believe our reseller partners can drive Zoom Phone adoption because they act as a trusted advisor to businesses making UCaaS decisions around the world. This is one of the many reasons we have created this channel of marketing for them.
