VMware has been preparing its partners for almost a year for the launch of its partner program and has finally deployed its offer intended to promote skills development.

The general idea of the Partner Connect program is to make life easier for the channel and, over the next few months, it will be to integrate all the Carbon Black, VeloCloud and Pivotal programs under a single offer. From the start, there are also greater rewards for those who develop their skills and acquire master service skills.

Partner Connect was officially launched yesterday, and hundreds of partners have been designated as Primary Partners – the highest of three levels, which sits alongside Partner and Advanced Partner status.

These high profile resellers have been deemed best positioned to help customers on their digital transformation journeys and hold core competencies.

The skills have been designed to give partners skills in different areas with the VMware Cloud on AWS Master Services Competency, Network Virtualization, Cloud Management and Automation, Data Center Virtualization, and Desktop Options and of mobility.

“We designed Partner Connect with our customers in mind and the idea that they should feel confident when choosing to go with a VMware partner,” said Jenni Flinders, head of global channels at VMware. “And that’s just the beginning, as Partner Connect continues to evolve to provide our partners with new and better ways to grow their business.”

The provider has increased the amount of education and support it offers its partners as it seeks to encourage more upskilling and skill acquisition. The VMware Learning Zone provides a wealth of content and gives partners the ability to customize plans to their own preferences.

Investment in online tools

Investments have also been made in online tools to make it easier for resellers to track their performance through a portal for incentives and development funds.

“The value of Partner Connect is universal, but it can bring particular benefits to the EMEA region, which is fragmented in its technology maturity, consumption and adoption levels,” said Jean Philippe Barleaza, Vice President EMEA for channel, alliances and general affairs. at VMware.

“This is a great opportunity for our partners in the region to propel their own businesses forward, as well as our customers. Partners can deliver a new consistency of experience, making it easy for customers to consume technology the way they want, all through a digital foundation, and adopt new innovative apps and services,” he said. -he declares.

The vendor’s top partners have been preparing for the launch for a while and working on their skills. Gavin Jolliffe, CEO of Xtravirt, the first VMware partner in the UK to achieve all five current core service competencies, said he was able to help users looking for help with digital transformation.

“With the relaunch of the Partner Connect program, VMware is reshaping and realigning how customers consume technology, allowing us to collaborate more effectively on large and complex transformations programmatically, rather than on one-time successes.” , he said. “It’s a very positive strategic decision.”
