Sliker’s Twitch Partner Status and Secondary Button Disappear After Scam Scandal

After a scandal involving SlikeR ripping off its viewers and peers out of hundreds of thousands of dollars came to light, the Twitch streamer lost its partner status and secondary button.

ItsSliker, better known simply as Sliker, was at the center of a controversy that erupted on Sunday, September 18. Allegations were made claiming that Sliker scammed his friends and fans out of thousands of dollars to fuel his sports betting addiction.

Sliker would go live on Twitch on Monday, September 19 to offer a tearful apology to those he took money from. But despite admitting to the scams that lasted more than two years, he still remained a partnered streamer on Twitch.

This has led other streamers like Asmongold to call out Twitch for their apparent lack of action. It also led Pokimane and Mizkif to call for a ban on gambling on the platform. And on September 20, both of these concerns were addressed on Twitch.

Late Tuesday, Twitch posted an official announcement on Twitter stating that it would be taking action against certain aspects of gaming on Twitch starting in October. And soon after, it was discovered that Sliker’s channel was missing some of the bells and whistles it had earlier in the day.

The Twitch Partner badge was missing from the streamer name and there was no longer the option to subscribe.

At this time, neither Sliker nor Twitch have made an official comment on the status of their partnership. However, Twitch said in its message regarding the game that the actions are being taken in light of people breaking the rules and exposing the community to potential harm.

It’s possible that Sliker asked for his partnership to be dissolved, but Twitch could also have removed him from his partnership following the recent scandal.
